Lord Dhanvantari is the healer of all affections. According to Hindu tradition, Lord Dhanvantari (a croaker of the gods) appeared before Devas and the Asuras during Samudra Manthan. He was holding Amrita (or quencher of eternity) and Ayurveda textbook in his hand. Devas and Asuras wanted the Amrita to come immortal. This led to a fight between both the groups. Latterly, Garuda defended the quencher from the Asuras.
